Space combat and trading. The space simulation game offers more than enough ways to enjoy the adventure trip into space. But you can’t just directly dive into a spaceship and start the long voyage in the Star Citizen universe. You need to buy ships, upgrade it time-to-time to avoid setbacks or halts during your trip, and, most importantly, buy weapons.
Earning money might be arduous but indeed not an impossible task. Although there are no indications of when this game will be fully released, that doesn’t stop Star citizens’ developers from adding several ways to earn in-game money. This money will help you to get ready for space exploration.
As we just mentioned, there are several ways to earn money: mining and Refining. Mining is the task of getting your hands on minerals in their natural form, but to sell them, you have to refine those minerals. Refined minerals can get you a much higher price than unrefined ones. In some cases, you are just supposed to sell the refined minerals. And just for that, we’ve prepared this article. In this article, we will discuss the refining process – everything related to Refining in the Star Citizen game. Scroll through and read the complete article to get acquainted with Refining.
As you might have guessed, Refining is a filtering process. But, to understand better, Refining is the process in which you can filter and purify the ores and minerals you have obtained during the mining process. Once purified, the minerals are converted into high-value items, which then can be sold to the buyers you see fit. Refining is further divided into various methods which differ in duration of the process, how efficient it is, and last but not least cost of the entire process.
The last factor – cost, is probably the most important one. You wouldn’t want to pay more than what you make by selling the item, right? So, knowing what you will get and what the Refining is costing you is equally important. And once you know that, you can choose the refining method that best suits you. Now, you move to the next steps, Refinery locations.
Refinery decks are where you will be conducting all the processes of refining your minerals. These decks were first introduced when Star Citizen Alpha 3.12.0 rolled out. Refined docks are primarily meant for carrying your unrefined resources here to be refined. Refinery decks also allow players to buy the equipment necessary for the process.
Mining items and moving them from mining locations to Refinery locations will require resources. Given that you will be in dire need to spend some crazy amount on Refining, you will most likely require more funds for mining and movement. So, here is what we suggest. After Refining, you can load the items on your ship(s) and move to the next step to sell them.
You can save some money with Refinery Ships or on-site Refinery. Having a refinery ship is beneficial; you won’t have to worry about locating and going to multiple stations. Also, this will mean the refining process will be a bit quicker as you will control the process.
